As I lay on the day bed on the veranda early this morning, a honeyeater bird perched a metre away in the bougainvillea, flew above me and out into a tree. To see it gliding past was incredible, the mystery and beauty of a bird in flight is so exquisite; wings outstreached, a timeless moment, a doorway to the heart.
