Sitting on the veranda yesterday I realized just how fortunate I am -
I can walk, I can talk, I can hear, I can see, I can touch, I can smell, I can feel.

I have intelligence and self awareness to reflect, enquire and relate. I am healthy and fit, I have clean food and water, I have a home, I live in a beautiful peaceful country, I have the capacity to love and be loved.

When so many people in the world don't have the privileged life and good fortune that I have, why do I have such an underlying discontent, why do I want more ?

When I stop, I feel so much gratitude; I can see that all my discontent and need for more, is simply because I am habitually in motion, I take life for granted, and never stop for long enough to see that what I am looking for is right here.

It's like sitting on the bullet train looking out the window; life becomes a bit of a blur, where nothing is really seen or appreciated.

It's time for me to stop.
