I have a chair on my veranda overlooking a beautiful lagoon, trees and grassy wetlands. The chair is always waiting and available, an open invitation to stop and sit down and enjoy; but I am always so busy ? I rarely accept the invitation ?
This morning I accepted the invitation. I sat down, closed my eyes and felt the gentle warmth of the sun on my face. A symphony of bird songs surrounded me, and the smell of wood smoke drifted in and out in the fresh morning air. All of this was so familiar, so beautiful. Such a relaxed peace and silence, the joy of stopping, sitting down and enjoying what's always here, the delight and aliveness of living.
